Sharing Practical Ideas for the Future of Exhibition Industries

Mr. Mark Cochrane
Regional Manager of UFI Asia/Pacific office (Hongkong, China)

Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google, predicted that artificial intelligence based on machine learning will dominate the entire industry by 2020. The advent of the fourth industrial revolution, so called Industry 4.0, in the near future has been heralded.

Futurologists say that the development of technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality and virtual reality (AR & VR), Internet of Things (IoT), and so on, will bring about innovative changes. It is said that unprecedented transformation at a more rapid pace is expected in all aspects of diversity, society, the economy, and culture.

What are we supposed to do in such a situation? In which way could we maintain the values of exhibition industries and further achieve sustained growth?

Seek the solutions in the Asia Exhibition Forum in December as the speakers of the event will share their insights and opinions on ways to improve the values of exhibition industries and strategies for sustained growth.

Attendee Retention Insights and Use of Analytics by Today¡¯s B2B Exhibition Organizers

Mr. Brian D. Casey
President & CEO of CEIR (USA)

The exhibition environment is changing as a result of shifting demographics and rapidly changing technological advancements.

These dynamics are requiring exhibition organizers to more fully understand their respective exhibition eco-system in order to maintain and grow their business.

This session will focus on insights into attendee retention practices and the importance of data analytics from a macro and micro level to best understand ways to improve their exhibitions performance.

Don't Imagine. How to See a Real Desire that They Do Not Tell Us

Dr. Gilyoung Song
Senior Executive Vice President of Daumsoft, Inc (KOREA)

Insight does not come out from imagination.

See the real desire that people do not speak, the real opportunity that competitors do not notice even when they see it!

A lot of people today have fun online including social media by making friends, talking with others and gratifying their curiosity there. More than half a billion twitter messages are created on a single day around the world.

What Gilyoung Song does, the vice president of Daumsoft, Inc., is to observe and analyze numerous data on social media to understand people's minds (to mine minds).

In this lecture, the speaker explains how to understand human life and to find valuable alternatives with numerous data in plain language based on actual consulting cases he has performed.

Follow his stories from work, household and even from different countries, and you'll find your eyes opening up for everyday life and for opportunities within it.

Digitalization in Exhibitions Industry

Ms. Josephine Lee

Executive Vice President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China (Shenzhen, China)

Technology has had an immense impact on the event industry in the last few years. Event professionals globally have been consistently and gradually adopting new technology and digital communications to create a sustainable competitive edge.

Digital has become a very important supplement to both exhibitors and visitors as they need to understand who to meet, what to see and activities that might be interesting for them.

In this session, I will cover how Reed Exhibitions China make good use of digital technology to enhance overall customer services, add value to exhibitors via good use of digital, improve customers¡¯ return on investment through precise match-making and getting smart data for future business development.

Teleported Industries : Augmented and Virtual Reality in Exhibition and Event Space

Mr. David Francis

Head of Sales APAC of Zappar, Founder and CEO of VIRTUAL (Australia)

In the event and exhibition industries, one of the greatest challenges is how to bring large and complex products and service-offerings into limited expo-sites.

In addition, communicating the vision and opportunity to potential exhibitors is extremely difficult. Augmented and Virtual Reality allow industry professionals to broaden the opportunities for exhibitors, porting products-in, and attendees out, of the expo hall - to anywhere in the world. Impossible demonstrations are made possible and every virtual interaction with an attendee becomes measurable.

Augmented and Virtual Reality will be the two most important new technologies of 2017 and, in this presentation, David will present the latest technology, case studies and industry applications for, as Tim Cook says [a technology] that will be "an integral part of our daily lives".

What is Next ? New Routes for Exhibition Business Globally

Mr. Bjoern Kempe

CEO of Expos Asia Pte Ltd (Singapore)

Expanding exhibition internationally seems on everyones agenda these days.

Many companies grow through M&A, some others through launches in niche industries or niche markets and others finding JV partners in the region.

Global expansion of the exhibition industry has been financially and equity driving recently.

The presentation will summarise different global expansion strategies from global players but also particular look inside Korea, China and ASEAN market as not all expansions are driven through M&A. Join me in a journey through Asia and learn the latest trends of exhibition globalization in this part of the world.
